All funds are directed toward helping the Colorado Football program return to dominance.  Funds are earmarked to assist local high school players to walk-on at CU and continue to strengthen the ties that bind CU Football to Boulder.

Rob Rutherford was a dedicated Colorado Buffaloes Football fan who passed away on September 28, 2022 after an extended bout with colon, kidney, and lung cancer.  A father to three sons (all college football players), two daughters, and grandfather to 16 grandchildren, conversation at every family meal centered around real estate, travel, and the CU Buffaloes.

Days before he died, Rob asked me how he was going to “beat this cancer.”  I responded by telling him he had already beat the cancer, and that cancer had no idea what to do with him.  That answer seemed to satisfy him, and a few days later my father passed away on his own terms surrounded by family.

While CU has the “Running of Ralphie”, there was also the “Walking of Rob” led by his good friend Mark Lewis, to ensure that as Rob’s strength began to leave him, he was still able to safely get into the CU games.  This memorial fund is in honor of the love and dedication Rob had for the CU Buffs.
